Dear Sporting Wichita Jr. Academy Families,

We’re excited to begin preparations for the upcoming 2026–2027 Junior Academy season at Sporting Wichita Soccer Club! Thank you for being a valued part of our community—we truly appreciate your continued support and commitment.

As a current Junior Academy member, your family receives the following benefits:

  • Guaranteed Priority Placement
Current members will have priority in securing a spot on a team, as long as a team is available for their age group and ability level.
  • Early Registration Advantage
Members receive priority over non-members when they register by the designated deadline.
  • Flexible Late Registration Option
Members may still register after the deadline; however, by doing so, they forfeit their reserved spot and will be placed on a first-come, first-served basis for any remaining openings.
  • Full Refund if No Team Is Formed
If we are unable to form a team for your player, you will receive a full refund.
  • Opportunity to Register Without a Coach in Place
Players may register for a team even if a coach has not yet been assigned. We will actively work to secure coaches as teams are formed.

To ensure your player’s spot and take full advantage of these benefits, we strongly encourage early registration.

Registration Deadline:
The deadline for the
2026–2027 Junior Academy season is Monday, May 25 at 11:59 PM.

We look forward to another fantastic season of growth, development, and fun. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re here to help!

Warm regards,

Ernesto Alcantara

Sporting Wichita Junior Academy

About Our Program

Sporting Wichita believes that our club is built from the youngest ages up. Because of this, we are committed to providing a year long program to our U5-U8 players just as our older players receive. Our curriculum created by our technical director and implemented by our trained coaches teaches each player the basic foundational principles of soccer in both an outdoor and futsal setting in a positive, safe, and fun environment. We believe players fall in love with the game at an early age and we desire to grow their love over time as they develop in a variety of ways.

Format

Fall/Spring: 1 weekly 60 minute turf practice at Stryker Sports Complex, 1 weekly 60 minute futsal practice at Sports Forum mandatory. 8 league games with assigned team based on age and gender at Stryker Sports Complex.

Winter: 1 weekly practice at indoor location TBD for players who sign up for winter training program within each age group (not included in base fee)

Practice Kits

Every player in the club will be required to wear their Sporting Wichita training shirt to every practice, ordered via our website’s online store and fulfilled through Soccer Master. Navy shorts with Sporting Wichita logo and navy socks are offered via the online store, but should a player already have Adidas or non-branded navy shorts and socks these are approved items as well and no additional purchases are necessary. The fee for the required practice shirt is $15/shirt.

Equipment

  • Each player MUST wear shin-guards to every session.
  • Soccer cleats are highly recommended (during the winter session, tennis shoes or indoor soccer shoes are required), bring a drink for the participant.
  • Shin-guards and soccer cleats can be purchased at any local sporting goods store.
  • All participants are required to bring a #3 soccer ball.
