First Team - UPSL - United Premier Soccer League

Sporting Wichita is an American Soccer club currently based in Wichita, KS, and member of the United Premier Soccer League (semi-pro). Sporting Wichita plays in the UPSL's Midwest Conference South Division.

Sporting Wichita is a MLS Academy affiliate of Sporting Kansas City and offers a multi-tiered youth soccer development program for players ages 3 to 19, and now we offer the vertical integration between the Academy and the UPSL team for talented players who are ready for a semi-pro level opportunity.

Sporting Wichita can participate in the qualifying rounds for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup through their affiliation and membership with the UPSL, the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).

The end goal for our semi-professional program is for the club leadership and coaching staff to enable talented players who work hard and guide those players toward opportunities to play in different environments that challenge them beyond the norm.

Host Family Program for First Team UPSL Players

The Sporting Wichita UPSL First Team are looking for local families to house a men’s player during our UPSL League season. (May-July). This opportunity provides the players a home away from home while trying to reach their goals at a professional level.

This is the 3rd year for the program. The feedback from all the host families was incredible!!!

What is expected of host families? Not much really...we ask that the host families offer a bed and some meals, as our players are signed as amateurs in order to maintain their collegiate availability.

The best way to support your Sporting Wichita Player is to come to as many games as you can (home and away) during the the season. They love to see you there!

FAQ'S

My family is busy, how will I find time to be there with them? - The Sporting Wichita Player are quite busy themselves, and spend most of the day training, participating in community events, traveling for away games, and some have part time jobs as well.

What if I cannot be home to cook them dinner? - These are mostly college age men, and are used to fending for themselves...you may even get lucky and host a player who likes to cook!
